Yesterday marked a significant moment of community solidarity as the Cave Shepherd Community Fund proudly donated $30,000 to the Rotary Fisherfolk Donation Appeal. The handover ceremony, held in the presence of boat owners from Oistins’ and Bridgetown was a testament to the resilience and unity of our community. In attendance representing the Cave Shepherd Group were Rotarians, Paul M. Ashby, Keri Mapp, Peter Arender, as well as Dale Niles, Community Engagement Lead – Cave Shepherd Community Fund.

The funds will be dedicated to purchasing essential items for the repair of boats identified as needing attention after the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl on our local fisherfolk’s livelihoods. This initiative is not just about restoring boats—it’s about restoring hope and ensuring that these hardworking individuals can continue to provide for their families and contribute to our island’s economy.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making this happen, and to our fisherfolk—your perseverance inspires us all. Together, we are stronger. 🌊🚤
